A vibrant, hardworking man of his age, Ihsan has always played a key role in promoting peace and mediating conflicts amongst Afghan young generation. He has always been amicable with friends and co-workers; furthermore, Ihsan has always devoted his time to help others in particular defending human rights and promoting women role in Afghanistan. Through his blogging and active involvement in the other means of media, he strives to increase awareness of Afghans towards real democracy and pluralism under austere circumstances in Afghanistan.

He is a media man and works to establish a friendly community. He is a person of change and he really thinks on changing the social issues to its best. I am agree with Mr. Malyar that he is a hardowkring man of his age, mediator and always devotes his time to help other in particular the young generation's status that is lost in the past.

Adding on Mr. Fahim Malyar's comment, according to Mr. Taheri's Facebook fan page,

Sayed Ihsanuddin Taheri attended many conferences nationally and internationally, which were held about Afghanistan and the young generation of the country. He also contributed in those meetings and conferences by analyzing current situations and submitting his recommendations. He is an active member of the peace process in his country; as a young Afghan he took part in the historical processes such as Constitution making, First-ever Presidential Elections, Afghanistan-Pakistan Joint Peace Jirga, and Consultative Loya Jirga for talks on Afghan – American Strategic Partnership. In all these processes, he was working for his country considering national advantages where he was lobbying with the community invited members for the sake of his country’s future status in the world.

Mr. Taheri is always considering how to remove the gap between the rich and the poor; how to help poor families and students by making the environment friendly. He is quoted as saying, "Working for the poor and helping them is a wish that I want to convert into reality."

I have known Sayed Ihsanuddin Taheri for almost all my life and have witnessed his hard work and commitment to the welbeing of his people. During the Taliban when he was still a very young man and had fled Afghanistan to Pakistan, he was involved in many educational programs for Afghan refugee children. The programs included native and foreign language classes, computer programs and sports.

When he returned to Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban, Mr. Taheri returned to Afghanistan along of many other Afghans with a great desire and determination to take part in the reconstruction of his country and to help the young democracy in Afghanistan.

Since 2001, Mr. Taheri has held senior positions in different levels of the government of Afghanistan. He started as personal assistant and adviser to Nematollah Shahrani, the then vice president of Afghanistan.

In all the posts he has held, Mr. Taheri's prime objective has been to contribute, to the best of his authority, to the rebuilding of all Afghan institutions, the growth of the role of the youth and women in all spheres of life in the country and defending human rights.

Over the past two to three years, Sayed Ihsanuddin Taheri has been working at the Afghan Ministry of Education where, according to himself, he has the best opportunity to have greater contribution in rebuilding the country's devastated education system.

In addition to that, Mr. Taheri heads Afghanistan's newly-revived Education Radio/TV that airs educational programs in major cities in the country.

Sayed Ihsanuddin Taheri has attended several conferences inside and outside Afghanistan representing his country on issues like role of the youth, government's achievements over the past few years, and the new process of democratization in Afghanistan.

On a recent visit to The Netherlands on the invitation of the Universal Peace Federation, Mr. Taheri received a honorary certificate introducing him as the new UAF (Universal Peace Federation) Ambassador for Peace.

What I have written above is only a brief and limited description of Mr. Taheri's achievements and activities in Afghanistan and on the international level. Having achieved already so much in a young age, I am sure Mr. Taheri has a long way to go and a lot to do to help his country.

I believe the World Vision Peace Prize will further strengthen his determination, and the determination of other young people in Afghanistan, to make more efforts towards the betterment of situation in their country.

Mr. Khalid great for being frank about Mr. Taheri.

He is always thinking towards his country's status in the world as one of the most important countries of the moment.

Ihsan Taheri I agree with all what you said about him and it is not enough. It can be a small part of his acheivments in the past 10 years of time being an official of the government and a current affairs young analyst.

I end my saying with pointing out one of his famous qoutations "helping the poor and working for them is a major dream that he wants to convert it into reality".

500 Afghan Students Freed from Freeze

By Christopher Davies: Amsterdam, Feb. 22, 2008

While there are almost daily reports of disasters in Afghanistan, Sunday, February 17 seeing Afghanistan's deadliest suicide attack since the 2001 invasion, killing more than hundred people in Kandahar city, it is refreshing to hear of how the quick thinking and decisive action of a young Afghan government official recently helped save the lives of some 500 young high school graduates.

Afghanistan is always proud of having such young activists in this new era. I have met Ihsan for the first time when he came to Balkh Province of Afghanistan for social and political activities. He was very young and started walking out in the streets discussing on young performance and support to the social changes. He was much more focusing on young participation in decision makings of the social networks in communities. I was working for an NGO in Balkh Province where we all supported his ideas towards young capacity building and women participation in social activities. He was also thinking of women capacity building in the sector of politics where Afghanistan has to be an Islamized democratic country.

He was totally against the enemies of Afghan people and was struggling to gain support of the society against their presence. Mr. Taheri left Balkh to Kabul and I was then following him. He is an active member of peace process in the history of AFghanistan as the only young active peace negotiator, in my point of view. He has been involved in the peace process starting from 1998 when he was studying and working in Pakistan during migration time.

I really appreciate your kind consideration of nominating him, a professional young activist, in this prize. I and my other friends support his nomination for this prize as Afghanistan needs its voice to be heard properly by young generation.

Thanks World Vision for putting him in the list of finalist nominees.

For your information, his articles that were published on Persian and English websites around the world are populous. Here is the two articles and their links on two different issues:

Election campaigns in Afghanistan and the never-ending promises of candidates to the Nation: http://centralasiaonline.com/en_GB/articles/caii/features/2009/08/0...

Thoughts on Afghan Youth: http://centralasiaonline.com/en_GB/articles/caii/opinions/2009/10/3...

I wish him success in the nomination process.

I only add the following two paragraphs from his facebook page "Sayed Ihsanuddin Taheri" mentioning his recent international acheivement. We support his nomination for this internationally recognized award. He is an active Afghan young blogger and writer.

"... The recent achievement is his inclusion in an international book. The International Biographical Centre of Cambridge - England, which is the world leader in biographical publishing, is publishing its International Book “2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century, 7th Edition”. Mr. Taheri is among them and his biography will be included in it. This book will be housed in libraries, research institutions and private collections all over the world.

From 1996 to 2001, Sayed Ihsanuddin Taheri lived in Pakistan with his family. He helped young Afghan immigrants and Pakistani students by teaching English as a second language and various computer programs. In addition, he also gave tuition of school books to the Afghan children. He started serving his country in diverse forms since he was 15.
